Prayer is the practice of the presence of God. It is the place where pride is abandoned, hope is lifted, and supplication is made. Prayer is the place of admitting our need, of adopting humility, and claiming dependence upon God. Prayer is the needful practice of the Christian. Prayer is the exercise of faith and hope. Prayer is the privilege of touching the heart of the Father through His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Please pray for Jim Altman, a close friend of Joe & Lynn Haegele. Jim was in a car accident and is currently in the hospital. Pray that God helps Jim to recover from his injuries.

Please pray for my Aunt Kathleen Schultz who passed away yesterday. She was a devoted sister to my mom and our family darling who we treasured so much. Pray that she is safely home and for my mom, Loretta Connelly, that her grief is not too heavy a burden to carry.
A local school bus has been in an accident involving 6th Graders from Grantfork. EVERYONE PLEASE PLEASE PRAY FOR THESE KIDS/PARENTS/DRIVER. It got in a bad wreck with a semi. The front is all mangled up, but the back of the bus looks okay. They were on their way back from a Springfield field trip.
Please pray for Abby Quitmeyer, as most of you know in a terrible accident over this past weekend. Please keep Neal, Kathy, Mindy, Kevin and there entire family as they go through this terrible time. May the Angels bring Abby Home to the Lord.
UPDATE: Miriam is doing better today. Her situation yesterday was likely due to the high temperature. She was flown to Cardinal Glennon yesterday afternoon. She was admitted & is being treated for croup and pneumonia. Thank you St. Paul family for prayers. Thank you St. Joseph’s ER staff and Dr Matt M.; they were quick to respond and were wonderful. Please pray for Mrs. Trekel, mother of my friend Shari. Mrs. Trekel tripped and fell on Saturday, May 5th…when she tripped she lost her balance and fell forward into the steel doors and fractured her C1 and C2 in her neck. She had surgery Monday to put a pin in C1 and is wearing a cervical collar to immobilize the C2, for 4-6- weeks.

Phone tree: please pray for Karen Boulanger and family. Their youngest daughter Miriam is in the ER right now suffering from what appears to be seizures.

Thank you all for the prayers for Russ Nuxoll(Mike’s uncle). Our prayers allowed him to endure cancer for 2 years. Today he has gone to be with Our Father in Heaven, as well as his own parents and other family members. Pray for healing for our family, but rejoice that he has no more pain.
Please continue to keep Sister Janis in your prayers. She is receiving chemo for pancreatic cancer and will be having a scan in a few weeks to see if the tumor has shrunk . She is grateful for prayers.
Please pray for my sister, Judy, 71, who will be having back surgery on May 16. She is in much pain. Becuase of her mental challenges, this is a very difficult time for her as well as for our 92 yr. old mother. I would so appreciate your prayers for them. May our dear Lord bless all our sick with healing & strength.

I received an e-mail requesting prayers this morning from a business acquaintance. I promised her I would add this little baby to our prayer list.
When saying your prayers – I
Clare is 8 months old and they noticed she was not using her left hand at all. Original thought was that she might have mild cerebal palsy.
Since then she had an MRI and 30% of her brain is dead space. At this time, the doctors have no idea what the long term effects will be. So far – she has been doing everything that an 8 month old should. Hopefully the effects will be mild and she will continue to develop like any other baby. Needless to say, Sharon and Rob are devastated and need all the support they can get.

Please continue to pray for my friend Linda. Her heart went into “afib” or “irregular heartbeats”. Tuesday ( April 24) doctors are going to try medication to get her heart back in rhythm.

Please pray for my daughter that is having troubling food allergies that we can’t put a finger on. This has been leading to gallbladder pain, abdominal pain, & rashes with no relief for years.
Please pray for my friend Linda. She went in for minor surgery as she put it “to zap her heart” because she has an irregular heartbeat. The surgery turned major and took 11 1/2 hours. She will return to the doctor in 3 months to see if she qualifies for a new drug which will help her heart or a pacemaker. Please pray that God keeps her heart healthy and give the doctors the strength and knowledge to provide the best follow up treatment for Linda.

Please pray for a young men who is losing his hearing in both ears. At this time it’s a very rare condition with no cure. Please pray that the condition doesn’t worsen and they find a cure before it’s to late for him.
He needs a miracle.

“Thought I would send you this news. Debbie went to the neurosurgeon. Said she was not displaying symptoms from the brain tumor. Probably will be years before she sees problems from it where she would need to have something done about it! She does need to work on her blood pressure for her sinus surgery. Please pray for the soul of Cleo Cipicchio, grandfather of my nephew, Dominic and niece, Taylor. Mr. Cipicchio passed away on Sunday morning, March 18th. The Lord allowed Mr. Cippicchio time to say good bye to his family who made the journey for all over the US to see him. Please keep Dominic, Taylor, their father Ted, their grandmother Delores and the rest of the Cipicchio family in your prayers as they mourn the unexpected passing of Mr. Cipicchio and keep all of them safe as they make their journey back their homes.
Please pray for the soul of Mary Makowski, my sister, Theresa’s mother in law. Mrs Makowski passed away on Saturday night, March 17th. Please pray for my brother in law Greg, my sister Theresa, and my nephews Jeff and Andrew as they travel from Florida to St. Louis for Mrs. Makowski’s funeral.

I just received word that the grandfather of my nephew, Dominic, and niece, Taylor had surgery and is not recovering well. His name is Cleo Cipicchio. Please pray for Cleo and pray for Dominic, Taylor and their father Ted as they are on their way to Michigan because the family has been told that Cleo might not be with them for long. Please the family members who are traveling safe and please give God’s strength to all of the family.

Please pray for my dear friend Sr. Janis, who is battling pancreatic cancer. It is possible that she might be able to be part of a study beginning next Monday, March 19, a study through which the medicine given her could hopefully block the cancer from enterng the healthy cells in her body. She is in her early 50′s.

Please pray we get rid of bugs in our house called booklice. There are no pesticides for them. They are affecting the health of our family. Please pray we immediately and permanently get rid of them.
Please pray for our granddaughter, Amber, who lives in Florida who is having some health issues. She don’t know if this will stop her for going into the Navy in Aug. Please pray for healing of her medical issues and so she will get to fulfill her dreams of going into the Navy.

This prayer request touched my heart.. my husband, Jeff was 42.. he passed from Pancreatic Cancer, he was diagonosed in August, passed in Novemeber. He didn’t get a chance to have Chemo.. Please continue to pray for Alice Daiber as she recovers from cancer surgery. In speaking with her daughter, Shelly, she asks that we pray that Fr. Thomas Price intercede on Alice’s behalf. Fr. Price is one of the co-founders of Maryknoll and is up for sainthood. He died of a ruptured appendix which is where Alice’s cancer originated. Shelly said he is in need of being part of a miracle for canonization. It would be wonderful if Alice were the recipient!! Of course, if you have a special saint or prayer you have been doing for Alice, please continue with that. We just ask that you pray for full recovery for her. Please pray for Megan Whaley, daughter of George and Karen, who has been in Barnes Hospital since last Wednesday for testing. Started with food poisening and has escalated into a very serious condition. She has lost a tremendous amount of weight and cannot keep any food down. Very weak and apparently the doctors are puzzled. Everyone is exceptionally worried. Thanks.

Please pray for my cousin’s son, Zachary, who has been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia & has been fighting this since last fall. He was in colllege when he was diagnosed. He is not able to leave the hospital due to having no immune system to fight disease. Please ask God to heal Zach and also give strength to his parents.

Please pray for my 30-yr. old niece, Elizabeth, and; her unborn twin boys. She found out she had Stage 2 breast cancer this week and; will begin a chemo treatment, safe for the twins on Wed, Jan. 11. The boys are to be delivered in mid-April by Caesarean. After delivery, Elizabeth will have more XRays and; more treatments. We so appreciate your prayers for her, her husband, and; their family. Please pray for my son Raymond. He is experiencing chronic pain and is non-verbal so he lays in bed and cries. He is having an outpatient surgery today to see if they can relieve the pain that we think is originating from his hip. Please continue to pray for a miracle recovery for his brain function, which was lost unexpectedly by a heart attack in 2010. We see small improvements, but are looking for that one great miracle to allow him to enjoy his life more.

He is jumping and running around like any other normal kid. God is good, and all of you are very special for praying for this darling little boy. Special Prayers are in great need for a little 6 yr. old boy, Caden, who was transported unexpectedly to Children’s Hospital Saturday. He will be undergoing cancer testing this week. Also please keep his family in your prayers. A very stressful time for everyone. May God give them strength and courage as well as healing for this precious little boy.

Please pray for my mom, Judy Reeves, who is having surgery for glaucoma on Wednesday, October 5. She’s had two surgeries for this in the last year, but the pressures in her eye haven’t come down yet. She also has COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulminary Disease) and many allergies to numbing medications used, so any surgery for her is risky.

My name is Shane O’Brien. I am the Bookkeeper for St. Paul Parish; I also coach football at Mater Dei High School. We recently got news that one of our football players, Kane Weinberg, has cancer. There are still doing tests for more details as to what type of cancer it is and to gather more details. For now what I know is that he has a fairly large tumor in his chest between the heart and lungs. Kane is it Barns Children’s hospital in St. Louis and he is in surgery right now. It sounds like they are going to take piece of the tumor to find out what they are dealing with. I wanted to put a prayer request in the St. Paul prayer chain. Please keep Kane and his family in your thoughts and prayers as he battles through these tough times. I know he has tons of support through his immediate family, football family, and friends. Thank you for your support. Together we will win this battle!
Please pray for Fr. Gustano Voucout, (Fr. Val),a Haitian priest who is a good friend. He has had glaucoma for several years, so please pray for healing so he can continue his ministry to his parishioners.
Millie Frey will have double breast removal at 10 am on Sept 26th. She will also have to have Radiation & Chemo after the surgery because of the extent of the cancer. She will need lots of support afterward. PRAY – PRAY – PRAY (a daughter in law will be staying with her the first week) and of course her family is very supportive as we (her sisters/family) will be there also for her as much as needed.
