CYO/Youth Ministry

The CYO (Catholic Youth Organization) is for all High School age youth of St. Paul Parish. The CYO is dedicated to providing religious experiences for the youth of the parish and their friends. Members elect officers each year. The officers attend CLI (Christian Leadership Institute) each year. CLI is held at Villa Maria Retreat Center Springfield.

The CYO Mission Statement is devoted to Faith Building and Service Projects: such as supporting Highland Area Christian Ministry; adopting a Needy Family at Christmas; assembling and delivering Easter Baskets to the less fortunate children of the area and (many different areas in the past); attending Our Lady of the Snows, Youth Day each Autumn, and providing “Kirchenfeet” at the Parish Kirchenfest.

In the past years, the youth of our parish have traveled to: Denver , Colorado in 1993; Paris , France in 1997; St. Louis , Missouri in 1999; Toronto , Canada in 2002; Cologne , Germany in 2005; Sydney , Australia in 2008. These memorable experiences were a reality through the generous support of St. Paul Parishioners and Friends.

CYO meetings are held on the second and fourth Sunday of each month. At the meetings, Religious, Social, Cultural and Fundraising are discussed. The President chairs the Religious activities and is in charge of the Kirchenfeet; the Vice-President chairs the Social activities; the Secretary chairs the Fundraising activities; and the Treasurer chairs Service Projects. The primary fundraisers for the Youth Group are Breakfast Buffets in the parish center cafeteria.

Our Mission

We, the people of St. Paul Parish are a Roman Catholic Community, who believe in Jesus and His message. As the people of God, we are aware of our call to know Jesus intimately, and to proclaim Him and His message by our faith, words, and actions. We are comprised of unique individuals who are willing to share a great variety of personal gifts in order to become a unified people that will be a living expression of Jesus to those around us. We have a serious responsibility of service to others on a local, national, and international level, and, above all, to the most needy by responding to the needs of others. We aspire to make Jesus and His message of salvation a living reality in our world.
